Testing Camera Phone Filters…

I remember learning that your best camera is the one you have with you. When I’m biking, traveling, or running around, I don’t always have time to grab my DSLR. My most common camera for unexpected photos is my iPhone.

I post a bunch to Instagram as I’ve mentioned a bunch of times on this blog, but I also love editing with Snapseed and the new Flickr app. When I take pictures with my phone, I am quite committed to tweaking those photos with mobile apps. Here’s an example from a winter bike ride down the Lake Shore Drive trail.

One of my favorite places to visit in Chicago is Chinatown. Offering an amazing blend of photo opps and delectable eats, I am looking forward to Spring warming the city up and venturing back down to SoChi.

Milwaukee Art Museum, amazing

That’s my one-word review. I have always wanted to visit the Milwaukee Art Museum and was so glad to make that happen this week. I can’t get over how unique the space architecture is inside and out. The main lobby just blows me away.

Props to the one and only Leah Lavelle for joining me on the adventure.

Two Places at Once

I’ve got the week off as I needed a break from work. One of my goals is to get to old photos, take a bunch more, and get editing. Since I’ve moved to Chicago, I find I don’t grab my camera nearly enough, but when I do, I love to click away.

Here’s one that’s sat in the hopper for far too long. Train platforms make the best shooting spots!

Justice encore didn’t disappoint

One of my favorite apps for iPhone is TiltShiftGenerator. I’ve used it for quite a while now. It’s great to tilt-shift photos, but also to use sans-blur to create some nice images quite quickly.

Justice came out for an amazing encore and really seemed to love playing in Chicago. The crowd definitely gave them an astounding applause when the lights came back on.

Last week, I finally got to see Justice live in Chicago. They rocked Congress and didn’t let up for a second…such an amazing lightshow!

Pop-up Shops…now in SPA form…

Last week, I was up in Evanston, IL, and have the chance to check out the Whole Foods Market #popupspa. As a fan of all things pop-up-shop, I thought this was a clever idea. Simple store space. Free food and health samples. I can’t forget free massages.

As companies do more and more things to create buzz, gain a following, and promote products, I gotta give this one a thumbs up. Also, props to the artwork out front.
