I want to continue my "Before and After" series using a recent shot from the abandoned City United Methodist Church in Gary, IN. The church is a well-known destination for urban exploration and recognized as a staple backdrop in many blockbuster films.

I'm a huge fan of shooting look ups, and the abandoned church offered plenty of opportunities. While this day was cloudy, a good amount of light was pouring through the many windows and holes in the roof across the main vestibule. I was drawn to this spot because of the symmetry in the Gothic architecture juxtaposed with the many different window sizes on each side.
My goal for the edit was to focus the viewer's eyes on the color in the stained glass while increasing the contrast in the overall frame. I think the added contrast, along with the muted tones, brings focus to the many windows as well as the stained glass within the arch.
